In this position paper, I speculate on what we might learn about the politics of climate change if stay with possibility that boredom be part how subjects encounter and make sense change. argue enacts an ethically politically ambivalent detachment from demand to act accompanies urgency-imbued vocabularies crisis emergency. Whether is a refusal face change, or way coping inhabiting overwhelming, being bored allows existing attachments fossil-fuelled lives futures continue.
